How it works

The opening hours widget displays a configurable list of daily opening times. You enter the hours as plain text – one line per day – and the widget parses and displays them in a clean, readable format. A holiday or special notice can be added below the hours list for seasonal messages like "Closed on bank holidays" or "Extended Easter hours".

This is a static display – the widget does not check the current time or update automatically. For businesses with genuinely complex hours (different hours each week, rotating shifts), a custom solution with structured data would be more appropriate.

Common uses:

  • Retail shops: show regular opening hours and seasonal variations
  • Medical and dental practices: surgery hours, phone lines and appointment availability
  • Hospitality: pub, restaurant and cafe opening times
  • Professional services: solicitor, accountant and consultancy office hours

Local SEO: search engines commonly pull opening hours from websites and display them in local search results. Having clear, structured opening hours on your site helps this – and the search listing can include a direct link to your opening hours, which is a useful click-through driver.

Note on real-time hours: this widget shows the hours you enter, not the current open/closed status. If you need to show real-time open/closed status, you would need a connected solution with backend logic. This widget is designed for information display, not live status checking.
