An age calculator converts a date of birth into a precise age breakdown: years, months, days and the total number of days lived. It does this by comparing the date of birth to today's date and calculating the exact difference.
The calculation accounts for months with different lengths and handles year boundaries correctly — for example, someone born on 31 January will correctly show age 1 month on 28 February in a non-leap year.
Common uses:
Age in days: the total days count is particularly useful for children (how many days old is my baby?), legal processes that count from birth, or anyone tracking a precise age milestone.
Age vs age in months: babies and young children are often described in months ("she's 18 months old"), while adults typically use years. This calculator shows both, giving visitors the format that's most useful to them.
