How it works
This countdown widget converts a future date into a plain-language countdown: days, weeks and approximate months remaining. It does not require a time to be set — enter any future date and the widget calculates immediately.
It is simpler than the full countdown timer, which needs a specific date and time. This widget is for when you just want to know "how long until [date]" without any time-zone complexity.
Common uses:
- Event promotion: concert dates, weddings, conferences, school terms
- Seasonal products: "only X days until the new range drops"
- Retirement or financial goals: "how long until I can retire" (enter target retirement date)
- Academic year: countdown to exam dates, university terms, results day
Countdown to date vs countdown timer: the Countdown Timer requires a specific date and time and updates live. This widget shows a static summary — days, weeks and months — without live updating. Use this for simple duration display; use the countdown timer for live event-day pages.
Past dates: if the entered date has already passed, the widget shows a message rather than a negative countdown.
